From beginning to end we’ve re-engineered the End-to-End Design-Build process.
We design homes tailored to the specific needs of a location. With a digital home design in-hand, we manufacture that specific kit of bricks and components.
Once shipped on-site, our small team of construction technicians are able to assemble the building quickly and efficiently; resulting in a move-in ready home.
First step is the 'Kit of Bricks' arriving on-site
Second is placement of foundation pier pads
Third, floor beams and wall bricks are stacked
Fourth, walls are built up with headers
Fifth step is completion of superstructure with roof installation.
Sixth, the doors and windows go in and the insulating siding is applied
Finally, the finishing touches and home completion.
Design
Consultation: We will meet with you to discuss the vision for the project, budget, and timeline. This will include a site visit (as appropriate) to determine project feasibility.
Design: We then utilize an existing home design — which saves costs and time — or we work with you to create a custom design, tailored to your vision.
Manufacture
Permitting: With a finished design in-hand we can begin the permitting and pre-manufacturing process. Because we use the same brick designs in different ways, we are uniquely capable of beginning pre-construction in parallel with permitting, reducing end-to-end project timelines.
Site preparation: As pre-manufacturing continues, site prep can begin including clearing, grading, and staking. Our custom foundation system is engineered to consider local seismic and soil conditions. Once installation is complete we begin placing the subfloor mechanical systems.
Build
Framing: Our construction technicians build the frame of the home, including the walls, trusses, and floors. The fiber-reinforced tension layer is applied to lock the frame in place.
Mechanical Rough-in: Our construction technicians install plumbing, electrical, and HVAC systems using pre-manufactured, sub-assemblies and our quick-connect mounting bricks.
Insulation & Siding: Our construction technicians install the insulation, exterior siding, and roofing. Windows and doors are installed resulting in a complete weathertight structure. The interior drywall replacement is installed providing a complete finished structure.
From here, we can finish the project to provide a move-in ready home or hand off the project to the client or another builder.
Fixtures & finishes: The construction technicians install cabinets, countertops, appliances, fixtures, and finishes. If HumanKind Homes provides this service, we provide all-electric components, Energy Star rated appliances, and sustainable and healthy materials for every piece that goes into the final product.
Final inspections: The team completes final inspections to ensure the home meets all safety and building codes.
Move-in: We give you the keys and provide a walk-through to verify satisfaction and show you the unique features and benefits of a HumanKind Homes-built home.
